VM&A Consulting Engineers S.A., based in Athens and providing technical consultancy, engineering design and project management services, is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its Engineering Department.
Senior Engineer - Environmental Infrastructure Design
The role involves the planning and design of water and wastewater treatment, sludge management and solid waste management facilities, as well as technical support to public and private clients throughout project preparation and implementation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and prepare preliminary, detailed, tender and construction designs.
- Develop and evaluate technical studies, perform engineering calculations, and size treatment units and equipment.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and tender documents
- Evaluate technical proposals and liaise with suppliers to select equipment and integrate it into the design.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external partners, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables.
- Monitor project schedules and liaise with clients, contractors and relevant authorities.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support the resolution of technical issues.
Required qualifications
- Degree in Engineering.
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, including substantial involvement in environmental infrastructure design.
- Proven experience in water and wastewater treatment and / or solid waste management projects.
- Ability to independently manage technical assignments and coordinate design teams.
- Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD and familiarity with engineering calculation tools.
- Strong command of English and ability to prepare technical documents in both Greek and English.
- Sound engineering judgement, organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Additional Qualifications Considered an Asset
- Experience in tender and construction design for construction companies or project contractors.
- Knowledge of and experience with Revit.
- Knowledge of public procurement procedures.
- Relevant postgraduate degree.
